Description

Youth Officer (Corryong)

$38.09 to $43.48 per hour – dependent on skills and experience

Fixed-term, part-time role until August 2027

Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy/work-life balance

As the Youth Officer based in Corryong, you’ll:

  • play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering young people
  • work closely with local communities to develop and implement programs that promote youth engagement, wellbeing, and personal development
  • collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that the needs and voices of young people are heard and addressed effectively

What you can expect in this role:

  • Develop and implement youth programs that cater to the needs of the local community
  • Engage with young people to understand their challenges and aspirations
  • Collaborate with schools, community organisations, and local government to promote youth initiatives
  • Facilitate workshops and activities that encourage personal development and social skills
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Provide support and guidance to young people in accessing services and resources
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on youth engagement activities

What we’re looking for:

  • A relevant qualification in youth work, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people in a community or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Knowledge of youth issues and community resources available to support young people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
