Are you keen to support your local community?
We’re looking for reliable volunteer drivers to support the safe transport of clients to various appointments.
As a Volunteer Community Transport Driver, you will:
- Ensure the safe and comfortable transport of clients using a community transport vehicle. Destinations may include: doctors’ appointments, hospital/medical appointment, aged day care, social outings and shopping.
- Assist clients with mobility, i.e., walking or getting in or out of the vehicle or with seating.
- Monitor daily maintenance requirements of the designated vehicle and equipment, including cleaning
- Uphold the Intereach values of partnership, leadership and social justice.

This is a casual volunteer position based in Deniliquin.
About You
We are seeking drivers who are good communicators and passionate about supporting the local community.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Have a well-developed understanding of the needs of Community Transport users including people with disabilities, frail aged, carers and children
- Knowledge of the Deniliquin Local Government area
- Demonstrated history of reliability and punctuality
- Be willing to complete a full health assessment (the cost will be reimbursed by Interach)
- Provide driver history
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a current unrestricted driver’s licence with a Passenger Transport Code “T” (NSW)
- Undertake a criminal record check
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a current Working With Children Check
- Have clearance to work in aged care (must not be listed on the Aged Care Register of Banning Order)
- Have (or be willing to obtain) a NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current First Aid and CPR certificate
