Make a meaningful difference with us
We’re looking for someone who wants to make the world a little better through small moments that leave big impacts. To build meaningful relationships and make a difference in the lives of others.
Play a key role in strengthening financial stewardship at UnitingCare Queensland.
As the Treasury Specialist, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day treasury operations that underpin organisational performance—managing cashflow and liquidity, banking and merchant services, investment activity, and funding requirements. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening financial sustainability, governance and compliance across a large, complex organisation with genuine purpose.
Working closely with finance teams, service groups and external partners, you’ll play a key role in delivering clear, timely insights to senior leaders, the Board and key Committees. You’ll help strengthen controls, enhance cash visibility and optimise banking arrangements, ensuring confidence in decision-making. In this hands-on role, your expertise will directly influence financial discipline and support sustainable outcomes across a purpose-driven organisation.
Please note, this position is Full Time Permanent. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you, too - this role supports hybrid working by agreement.
Your part in our UnitingCare team:
- Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity across multiple bank accounts to ensure strong cash visibility
- Deliver accurate, forward-looking cashflow forecasts and provide clear variance analysis and insights
- Oversee transaction banking and merchant services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective arrangements
- Administer bank accounts, systems access and merchant facilities, maintaining strong governance and controls
- Support investment operations, including monitoring balances, maturities and performance outcomes
- Prepare and manage drawdowns, facilities and treasury administration to support funding requirements
- Maintain robust treasury controls, compliance reporting and risk management activities
- Produce high-quality treasury reporting for senior leaders, Board and Committees
- Identify and implement process improvements across treasury operations, systems and reporting
- Partner with finance teams and stakeholders to enhance data quality, capability and treasury outcomes
What makes a difference for us?
- Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies. This may include: a Nationally Coordinated Police Check, Right to Work in Australia, Insolvency Check
- Degree in finance, accounting or a related field (a post graduate qualification advantageous)
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior Treasury or Finance leadership role within a large or complex organisation
- Strong experience managing relationships with banks and investment partners, including transactional banking and debt products
- Proven capability developing and overseeing treasury policies and governance frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery
- Clear, confident communicator who can influence senior and non-financial stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to quickly build knowledge in new or regulated environments
