The Role

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the operational management of our internal IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of systems and infrastructure. This role involves administering and maintaining server environments, optimising system performance, and ensuring robust backup and recovery processes.

Specifically, your role will consist of:

  • Operational management of the internal IT infrastructure
  • System administration of server environments, operating systems, and network systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Performance monitoring and optimise system and VM performance, including backup/recovery processes, and resource utilisation within both on-premise and cloud environments
  • Service lifecycle management, including decommissioning legacy systems
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to secure systems and data
  • Automate administrative tasks to improve team efficiency and reduce manual intervention for routine tasks.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to keep systems secure and up to date.
  • Manage operational metrics (including uptime percentages, response times, incident resolution times, capacity planning accuracy, and datacentre availability
  • Accurate documentation and accessibility of network diagrams, system architecture, configuration details, and operational procedures.
  • Security compliance by responding to results from third-party vulnerability assessments, patching compliance rates, and remediation timelines.
  • Ensuring system performance such as system uptime, performance metrics, and incident resolution times.
  • Successful management of user accounts, access control, and data security protocols.

About You

  • Solid understanding of server infrastructure, virtualisation, networking, and storage systems
  • Practical experience in systems administration within a datacentre environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage both support tickets and project tasks
  • Familiarity with networking technologies such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Basic understanding of ITIL best practices, especially in change management
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Someone who is self-driven and work autonomously
