The Team:
An essential part of the patient's journey, Sterilising Department Technicians are rarely seen but provide a vital role in delivering a quality service to our community. They must work together to ensure cleaning, processing and sterilisation of surgical instrumentation meets the high Standards laid out in AS/NZ5369:2023.
Our department is comprised of twenty-two staff members who work under the organisations CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect & Excellence.
The Role:
The sterilising technician role demands precision, consistency and strict adherence to infection control protocols and compliance. They must identify instruments, apply the correct cleaning and processing methods, and ensure each item meets Australian Standards before it's return to the Operating Room Suite, or external customer.
You will need:
The successful candidate will have a Certificate III in Sterilising or be willing to work toward obtaining same.
This role involves manual handling and physical demands, so applicants should be capable of performing repetitive lifting and standing duties.
The ability to function in a small tightknit environment and take direction from senior staff.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.
Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $67,193, to $72,126 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Holds or willingness to work towards the relevant qualification
- Ensure cleaning, processing and sterilisation of surgical instrumentation meets the high Standards laid out in AS/NZ5369:2023.

- Ensure each item meets Australian Standards before it's return to the Operating Room Suite, or external customer.
