Lendi Group is transforming the way Australians find, buy and own property. As the company behind Lendi — Australiaʼs original and #1 digital mortgage brand — and the iconic Aussie franchise network, we combine technology, distribution and deep property expertise to support customers across their entire property journey.

Powered by our proprietary AI platform and a national network of 1,300 brokers and 220 retail stores, Lendi Group now manages a $107B+ loan book and continues to set the pace in the industry, recently recognised as Aggregator of the Year.

Through our integrated Find–Buy–Own ecosystem and industry-leading Agentic platform, weʼre redefining how property decisions are made — delivering greater confidence, speed and simplicity for customers.

Our goal in Group Distribution is to be the #1 Broker Network in the industry. The State Manager, Retail (QLD) is the most senior Retail leader in the state, holding full ownership of the QLD Retail channel — performance, culture, growth, and engagement.

About the role

This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end ownership of the QLD Retail channel. The State Manager leads a team of Retail Business Consultants (RBCs), delivering state performance against North Star targets while shaping a high-performing, values-led culture that franchisees, brokers, and team members are proud to be part of. You will execute the QLD market representation strategy across retail footprint, broker headcount, and franchise pipeline, oversee key state events, and regularly travel to coach teams, engage franchisees, and represent the Retail channel at state and national forums.

Job Description

Retail Network Growth

  • Own execution of the QLD Market Representation Strategy — driving net store count growth through renewal, retention, and greenfield expansion
  • Attract, engage, and guide franchise candidates through the full application journey — cashflow modelling, business planning, site selection, and approval
  • Influence outcomes across the full franchise lifecycle — recruitment, onboarding, renewal, and succession
  • Activate Broker Pathways opportunities, supporting brokers to transition across channels aligned to their goals
  • Drive quality execution of franchise transactions, including delivery to Franchise Agreement timelines and store standards (refit/refresh).

RBC Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the QLD RBC team — fostering accountability, commercial acumen, and high network engagement
  • Coach RBCs to be effective business partners — supporting franchisees with business planning, pipeline management, sales leadership, marketing, and customer excellence
  • Embed consistent operating cadences across the state, with regular documented in-person and virtual engagements.

Channel Performance & KPI Delivery

  • Own delivery against North Star Lodgement and Settlement targets for QLD Retail
  • Drive outperformance across all Retail KPIs — customer excellence, store standards, operational benchmarks, and Franchise Agreement outcomes
  • Track and analyse state performance metrics to identify and execute targeted interventions

Culture, Engagement & State Events

  • Own the culture of the QLD Retail channel — building an environment where franchisees, brokers, and team members feel connected, valued, and motivated
  • Design and deliver a deliberate state engagement calendar — recognition, cultural touchpoints, and community-building aligned to Lendi Group values
  • Own and execute the QLD events program, including:
  • Lender engagement events — activations between franchisees/brokers and key lending partners
  • Aussie national and state conferences — coordination, content contribution, and franchisee/broker mobilisation
  • State summits and offsites — agenda design and execution of annual and quarterly leadership events
  • Represent QLD Retail at national forums; build intentional peer-to-peer networks within the franchisee community.

Change Leadership & Initiative Adoption

  • Drive adoption of strategic initiatives and product releases — Aussie App, Aussie Homes, Aussie Conveyancing, Aussie Bridge, and Aussie Products
  • Partner with GM Aussie Retail, GTM leads, ARMs, and central stakeholders on new tools, systems, and process improvements.

Broker Headcount Growth

  • Lead the QLD Retail broker headcount growth strategy
  • Support RBCs in monitoring Franchise Agreement compliance and capacity planning
  • Partner with Network Development and Talent Acquisition to deliver sustainable broker recruitment and retention strategies.

Strategic Priorities & Priority Support

  • Lead and contribute to state and national strategic initiatives as required by the GM Aussie Retail
  • Provide “priority support” to strategic stores in consultation with the GM, partnering with the RBC to accelerate growth outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in sales leadership and/or franchise management, ideally within financial services, fintech, or complex retail services
  • Proven track record leading distributed field teams in a franchise or multi-site environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive state-level growth through market expansion, strategic recruitment, and performance management
  • Strong commercial acumen — financial modelling, business planning, and franchise lifecycle management
  • Deep understanding of franchise operations, regulatory compliance, and governance
  • Experience owning and delivering large-scale events, conferences, and engagement programs
  • A natural culture leader — proven ability to build high-performance, values-led environments
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
  • Experience embedding strategic initiatives in complex, fast-moving environments
  • Mortgage broking or retail financial services experience highly desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive outcomes in an agile environment.
