WHO IS EPEC?
EPEC Group was founded seven years ago by three directors who shared one clear goal: help accelerate Australia’s energy transition — and do it well.
Today, we’re a team of 160+ engineers, specialists and problem‑solvers delivering end‑to‑end HV grid connection solutions across the country. We’re the only Australian business that manages the full journey — from early feasibility through to final connection — all under one roof.
That means market modelling, HV power engineering, registration, EPC delivery for substations and BESS BoP, SCADA, HIL testing, commissioning and compliance. No hand‑offs. No guesswork. Just solid engineering and smart solutions.
We’re technically driven, curious by nature, and serious about building a cleaner, smarter energy system for Australia.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for Senior Power Systems Engineers to join our Brisbane or Melbourne teams. We are open to offering 100% remote working from other locations in Australia as long as you’re happy to travel to one of our offices on an infrequent basis.
You’ll be hands‑on delivering complex power system studies — using tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and Hypersim — and playing a key role in getting major renewable projects connected to the grid.
You’ll be working alongside some of the most respected technical leaders in the industry, in a team that genuinely collaborates and backs each other. The projects are large, challenging and genuinely impactful — the kind that shape Australia’s energy future.
If you want work that stretches you, people you can learn from, and projects you’ll be proud to put your name to, you’ll feel at home here.
ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced Power Systems Engineer who knows their craft — and enjoys working with others just as much as solving technical problems.
Ideally, you bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar — Computer Science or Mathematics considered)
- End‑to‑end grid connection experience, contributing to technical studies on complex projects
- Strong experience with Generator Performance Standards (Schedule 5, NER)
- Confidence dealing with AEMO and NSPs, with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset
- A collaborative approach — you enjoy mentoring, sharing knowledge and lifting the team
- Chartered status and RPEQ, or a clear pathway to obtain them (we’ll support you)
WHY JOIN EPEC?
This isn’t just another engineering role. We genuinely believe our people are our advantage — and we back that up.
You’ll get:
- A culture that values critical thinking, curiosity and doing things better
- Exposure to some of the best technical minds in the industry
- A strong pipeline of renewable and storage projects
- Flexibility and trust to support real work–life balance
- Clear development pathways in a fast‑growing business
- And yes — the perks matter too: Fully stocked snack bar, on‑site barista, social events, memberships, EAP, novated leasing and more.
