NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centers. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist Level 3 to join the Penrith Community Mental Health Team. This role provides high-level clinical Occupational Therapy services to consumers with complex mental health needs, while offering professional leadership, clinical supervision, and service development within a multidisciplinary team.
Working in a recovery-oriented, community-based setting, you will support consumers to achieve meaningful occupational outcomes and promote independence, participation, and wellbeing. This is a role where you will contribute to multidisciplinary case planning, care coordination, and risk assessment, participate in service development, quality improvement, clinical governance activities and maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with NSW Health policies and professional standards.

What you will bring to the role
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Substantial post graduate clinical experience in a Mental Health service setting. Demonstrated capabilities for recovery-oriented practice and high level of knowledge, skills and clinical expertise for occupational therapy service provision in a mental health setting.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, provision of clinical supervision, and experience in the supervision of undergraduate occupational therapy students.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex caseload with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative, evidence- based individual and group interventions to support people with persistent and severe mental health problems.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and effective time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. Ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
