About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer with strong embedded and hardware skills to maintain and further develop our motor control product lines.

This role will involve firmware design, hardware integration, and system optimisation for industrial motor control applications.

You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, and production teams to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability of our motor control product line driving innovation in industrial motor control technology.

The Senior Firmware Engineer’s Key Responsibilities include:

  • Circuit designs, schematic reviews, hardware troubleshooting for power and control electronics
  • Developing, debugging, and maintaining embedded firmware for motor control applications.
  • Working closely with the electrical and mechanical design teams to ensure firmware–hardware compatibility.
  • Analysing and optimising system performance (control loops, efficiency, reliability).
  • Supporting product calibration, testing, and troubleshooting in lab and field environments.
  • Contributing to documentation, test plans, and release notes for hardware/firmware versions.

About you:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development for industrial control systems or power electronics.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ for microcontrollers (e.g., TI C2000, STM32, or similar).
  • Proficient in hardware schematics and PCB-level design/debugging.

Preferred Previous Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid understanding of power electronics, motor control algorithms (FOC, V/f), and inverter topology.
  • Background in medium-voltage or high-power drive systems.
  • Exposure to Profinet, CANopen, EtherCAT, or Modbus implementations.
  • Understanding of industrial certification and EMC testing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently under technical guidance
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
