Description
We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to deliver robust data solutions across Azure and AWS cloud platforms. You’ll lead migration projects, modernise legacy data environments, and build scalable Lakehouse architectures using Databricks and Delta Lake. This role blends hands-on engineering with architecture, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement across financial services, health, and enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric
- Develop Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions leveraging OneLake
- Deliver end-to-end data solutions across ingestion, transformation and modelling
- Translate business requirements into practical data solutions
- Support and optimise Power BI semantic models and reporting layers
- Drive best practices across data quality, performance and governance
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer in enterprise environment
- Strong expertise in SQL and dimensional data modelling
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse)
- Strong understanding of OneLake, Delta/Parquet and Power BI integration
- Experience building and optimising cloud-based data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and transformation
- Experience translating business needs into scalable data solutions
- Ability to operate effectively in client-facing / consulting environments
Over and above having these technical skills, you will also have a strong passion and flair for creating professional prototypes and dashboards.
Being a Melbourne based organisation, we’re looking for our team to be based locally. We also require applicants to hold an Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency (PR), or have other permanent work rights.
