Mō te tūranga - About the role
Relationship Associate - Commercial, supports Relationship Managers in delivering seamless banking experiences by providing customer solutions and insights through financial analysis and dedicated support for designated customer groups. The Relationship Associate will develop credit and relationship management skills, and within 12 months may be entrusted with a small Credit Approval Delegation and manage three or more accounts at the discretion of senior management. This position is ideal for individuals with emerging talent and the potential to progress into full Relationship Management responsibilities.

Hours: Standard, Mon to Friday 37.5 hrs

You will be responsible for:
- Listening to and valuing customers to understand their business requirements and service needs.
- Gaining insights into customer portfolios, including their numbers, goals, challenges, and value propositions.
- Enhancing the bank’s profile by demonstrating knowledge of customer industries and associated markets.
- Potentially managing a small portfolio of clients at the discretion of senior management.
- Building effective relationships and collaborating across teams, including Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, and product partners, to deliver customer solutions and resolve concerns.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by managing interactions in line with their needs and providing useful insights.
- Leveraging customer feedback to improve experiences and retain business.
- Demonstrating a proactive approach to self-development and maintaining positive work attitudes.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Proven experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery role.
- A sound understanding of structuring security arrangements.
- Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret the implications of financial trends.
- Experience within the Banking and/or Finance industry.
- Tertiary qualification in a financial discipline or prior financial/lending experience.
