Background

Amplar Health Home Hospital has expanded its Transition Care Service to Walkerville — providing another welcoming location for public hospital patients who no longer require acute care. Here, patients can rest and recover in comfort, while helping free up hospital beds for those who are acutely unwell. This expansion builds on our innovative model of care, enabling patients to move from metropolitan and peri-urban hospital wards into a supportive sub-acute setting designed for recovery and rehabilitation.

No two days will be the same: you'll care for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury, helping them regain strength and confidence, in this sub-acute nursing role.

Your opportunity

This opportunity will provide you a chance to exercise your experience as a Registered Nurse, providing comprehensive care to patients with a broad range of needs in a new dynamic setting outside of the hospital, in addition to:

  • Delivery high quality patient care across diverse clinical presentations
  • Coordination and delivery of high-quality patient centred care within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Work in a professionally simulating, rewarding environment that utilises innovative technology
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Respond confidently to clinical changes and other emergency situations
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training

About you

You'll enjoy a balanced 7-day rotating roster (mornings, afternoon and nights) offering variety, flexibility, and work-life balance, within a supportive team environment.

  • Experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Hold current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Hold a South Australian Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or are willing and eligible to obtain).
  • If successful, willing and able to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations.
  • Nurses with acute care experience are encouraged to apply.
