As the QE Logistics Manager, you will be accountable for the performance, governance and strategic direction of logistics, freight and customs operations supporting Qantas Engineering across domestic and international networks.

This is a critical leadership role, operating at the intersection of Supply Chain, Engineering and Commercial Management, where your decisions influence fleet availability and operational performance. You’ll oversee a global logistics network, freight and freight forwarding providers, ensuring reliable, compliant and cost-effective outcomes in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

Beyond day-to-day operations, you will play a key role in major transformation initiatives, contributing to new system design and implementation, building future-ready logistics capability aligned to evolving engineering and operational demands.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Leading end-to-end logistics operations across global freight networks, ensuring on-time delivery and continuity of supply
  • Managing over $50M in logistics spend, driving commercial outcomes and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Owning regulatory compliance across customs, aviation security, dangerous goods, and Chain of Responsibility frameworks
  • Leading supplier strategy and performance across external partners and logistics providers
  • Driving transformation initiatives, including system integration and process improvement programs
  • Building and developing a high-performing team with strong capability in logistics, compliance and analytics

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Extensive experience in logistics, financial control and freight operations within a complex, regulated environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large operational budgets and supplier performance
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including customs, hazardous materials and transport compliance
  • Proven ability to lead transformation and influence outcomes across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a focus on building team capability and driving high on-time performance

Experience needed

Extensive experience in logistics, financial control and freight operations within a complex, regulated environment.
