Metro South Health is seeking a motivated Provisional Fellow (General) to join the Department of Anaesthetics at Logan Hospital. This temporary full-time position (commencing February 2027) offers advanced training in general anaesthesia across a wide range of surgical specialties within a busy and growing tertiary hospital. You will work under appropriate supervision to deliver high-quality anaesthetic care while developing the skills, knowledge and confidence of a future specialist anaesthetist.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.

  • Provide anaesthetic care across diverse specialties including obstetrics, paediatrics and general surgery
  • Participate in consultant-level activities, including supervising junior staff and contributing to on-call rosters
  • Engage in education, audit, research and quality improvement to support clinical excellence

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

You are a committed anaesthesia trainee preparing for specialist practice with strong clinical capability and a focus on patient-centred care.

  • Demonstrated clinical skills in anaesthesia with ability to manage patients in a busy acute setting
  • Strong communication, teamwork and time management skills with commitment to continuous learning
