Are you passionate about supporting young adults to build confidence, independence, and real‑world life skills?

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Program Support Worker to support the delivery of our Pathways to Independence Program. This role plays a key part in ensuring participants feel safe, supported, and engaged, while also helping the program run smoothly behind the scenes.

This role operates on weekday hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm. These hours include participant transport, in‑session program support, and assistance with daily program setup and pack‑down.

The position is well suited to someone who enjoys building rapport with young people, working within structured programs, and contributing to a positive, organised program environment.

About the Pathways to Independence Program

Pathways to Independence is a structured, centre‑based group program designed to support young adult participants to build confidence, independence, and practical life skills aligned with their NDIS goals.

The program focuses on:

  • Communication and social skills
  • Emotional regulation and self‑awareness
  • Daily living skills and routine‑building
  • Confidence, independence, and community readiness

Pathways is delivered through planned workshops and activities, supported by facilitators and support workers who guide sessions, encourage participation, and adapt activities to individual needs.

As a Program Support Worker, you will safely transport participants to and from the program and provide in‑session support throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participant Transport
  • Participant Support
  • Assist with daily group workshops and structured activities
  • Provide 1:1–1:4 prompting and support within group sessions
  • Encourage engagement, confidence‑building, and peer interaction
  • Support routines, transitions, and community‑based activities
  • Assist with session setup and pack‑down
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of Program Facilitators and Leads

Program & Administrative Support

  • Prepare program materials and session resources
  • Assist with participant documentation, filing, and record‑keeping
  • Support the preparation of service agreements and participant documents as directed
  • Maintain attendance records, transport logs, and session notes
  • Help keep the Pathways program space clean, organised, and welcoming
  • Monitor program supplies and ensure essential items are stocked
  • Purchase program supplies or groceries when required
  • Maintain food storage areas and safely dispose of expired items
  • Report incidents, hazards, or participant concerns in line with policy

About You

You are someone who:

  • Is a confident, safe driver and comfortable driving a van with passengers
  • Understands the responsibility involved in transporting NDIS participants
  • Enjoys working with young people in a structured group environment
  • Communicates clearly, calmly, and respectfully
  • Can follow structured direction while remaining flexible to participant needs
  • Is organised, proactive, and supportive of program operations
  • Understands the importance of documentation, safety, and compliance
  • Works well as part of a team and takes on shift‑based direction

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Current full Australian Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • Experience or confidence driving a van or transporting passengers (essential)
  • Experience supporting people with disability and/or psychosocial support needs
  • Confidence supporting participants within group programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to complete documentation and follow NDIS requirements
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Mandatory Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check (if applicable)
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full Australian Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record
