The Opportunity

Orrcon Steel is looking for Production Operator Team Members in our manufacturing team based in O’Sullivan Beach. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.

We are excited to be offering multiple opportunities for permanent operations team members for our O'Sullivan Beach plant. Whether you have steel industry experience or not, we are seeking individuals who are keen to further their skills in manufacturing. You will receive ongoing training and support to learn all aspects of this Team Member role allowing for future career development opportunities.

Initially, you will be working rotating shifts, dayshift hours of 6:20am to 3:07pm (5 days) and afternoon shift hours of 2:54 pm to 11:41pm (4 days), progressing to working day work Monday to Friday (throughout the week – 7 days rotation).

This permanent full-time role offers a competitive weekly rate. Your starting weekly rate will range from $1,111.88 to $1,222.46 plus allowances (15% for afternoon shift) plus superannuation.

Responsibilities or duties

As a Team Member you will work in a continuous production environment. Your role will be to operate machinery to create smarter solutions for our customers, while monitoring product quality and remaining committed to your own safety and that of your team. Working within a collaborative team environment, you’ll receive ongoing training and support. You will:

successfully contribute to a safe working environment

operating machinery to manufacture steel product

safely pack and strap our steel products

performing machinery maintenance and cleaning

be required to use overhead gantry cranes and drive forklifts
