Your New Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, Performance & Business Partnering, the Principal, Finance Projects is accountable for the enterprise coordination and delivery of the Finance change and transformation agenda. The role exists to ensure major Finance initiatives are prioritised, governed, and executed with discipline—delivering measurable benefits while managing risk, interdependencies, and stakeholder alignment across a complex organisation.
Responsibilities or duties
- Lead the coordinated delivery of major Finance projects and programs, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and with clear benefits realisation.
- Own the Finance projects roadmap, delivery approach, and sequencing to manage capacity and avoid fragmentation across concurrent initiatives.
- Provide leadership across priority FY27 initiatives, ensuring strong planning, execution discipline, and stakeholder alignment.
- Ensure project delivery is pragmatic and outcome‑driven, focusing on sustainable operational improvement and embedment into BAU, not just implementation milestones.
People and Fund Leadership
- Enterprise mindset with calm, credible presence in governance forums.
- Collaborative, transparent, and accountable—builds trust through clarity and follow‑through.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and complexity, able to simplify and create momentum.
- Resilient and constructive under pressure; able to manage competing priorities and escalate early.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships across Finance, Technology, Data, Risk, and business stakeholders to align objectives and enable delivery.
- Translate complex delivery issues into clear options and recommendations for senior decision‑makers.
- Facilitate cross‑team alignment, ensuring Finance priorities are understood, appropriately resourced, and delivered through effective collaboration.
- Maintain strong engagement with business‑unit finance leaders to ensure changes are practical, adopted, and embedded.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills—able to align executives and delivery teams without relying on formal authority.
- Ability to translate complex delivery issues into clear decisions, trade‑offs, and recommendations for senior forums.
- Strong commercial and operational judgement; pragmatic, outcomes‑focused delivery style.
- Benefits realisation capability—able to define measurable outcomes and ensure they are achieved and sustained.
- Strong communication and change leadership skills, ensuring adoption is actively managed (not assumed).
