About the Opportunities
We’re looking for a senior operator to join Akura as a Team Leader in our precast facility. Whether you’re an experienced Team Leader with a strong background in factory or production environments, or someone with hands-on experience in construction or a related industry, we’d love to hear from you. If you have a trade qualification—such as a carpenter, cabinetmaker, builder, concreter, roofer, or steel fixer—or if you have a strong eye for detail and experience in formwork, carpentry, or similar tasks, this is a great opportunity to join us as a senior operator.
Key Responsibilities
As a Precast Team Leader, some of the things you’ll do may include:
- Ensuring specifications are achieved and inventory is used efficiently
- Executing daily tasks to meet production, quality assurance (QA), and logistics targets
- Meeting targets while managing resources within budgetary constraints
- Maintaining a safe workplace and prioritize team wellness
- Completing necessary machine training and sign off on Safe Operating Procedures before use
- Leading designated teams to achieve daily targets and maintain productivity
- Modelling Akura values, setting an example for the team
- Supporting the Precast Manager and Foreman in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Interpreting shop drawings
- Marking out panels as per shop drawings
- Preparing timbers and foam to place inside panels
- Installing formwork on tables prior to concrete pours
- Preparing and installing reinforcement for each precast panel
- Pouring concrete / managing the concrete pour
- Finishing the concrete
About You
Skills in the following would be highly advantageous:
- 3 years’ experience in the building industry
- Extensive experience in interpreting shop drawings
- A natural flair for detailed work such as carpentry, formwork or similar
- Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on quality, always seeking to deliver your best work
- A current driver’s license
- Experience in leading a team
