We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Mount Isa.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist with Gidgee Healing, you will provide culturally appropriate, evidence-based assessment and intervention services to clients across the lifespan.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care that supports independence, participation, and overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clinical assessments and developing goal-oriented care plans.
  • Delivering therapeutic interventions in clinic and outreach settings.
  • Supporting clients with self-care, mobility, functional capacity, and environmental adaptations.
  • Collaborating with clients, families, and other health professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promoting health education and community engagement initiatives.

About You

You are an empathetic, adaptable, and collaborative clinician who is committed to making a positive difference in community health.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to outreach sites.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in rural or remote health settings.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural perspectives.
  • Experience with NDIS or community health models.
