Background information about the job or company

We're on the lookout for a Network Controllers to be part of SkyBus' exciting journey in delivering world-class transport services.

In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the real-time performance and delivery of our transport network. You'll be responsible for coordinating driver and vehicle movements minute-by-minute, while also supporting and guiding frontline driving staff during normal operations, disruptions, and emergency situations.

Your success in the role will rely on a strong understanding of key network performance indicators — particularly reliability and on-time performance — and your ability to implement proactive, effective network management strategies.

As a high-performing Network Controller, you'll monitor live network conditions, quickly identify pressure points (such as changes in passenger demand, route disruptions, or geographical challenges), and act decisively to reduce impacts on our customers and stakeholders.

We have the following roster available across AM and PM:

AM Shift: 4AM-3PM

PM Shift: 5PM-4AM

Responsibilities or duties

  • Monitor and manage network performance to ensure operational targets are met
  • Coordinate closely with Dispatch Controllers to align vehicle and driver scheduling
  • Provide real-time support and direction to drivers during incidents and emergencies
  • Respond to unexpected operational challenges with timely and effective adjustments
  • Record significant incidents and escalate them as required
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to manage service disruptions and maintain clear communication
  • Identify and report recurring operational issues to management for continuous improvement
  • Work on a rotating roster, including alternate weekends and 10-hour shifts

Qualifications or requirements

  • Previous experience in network operations, transport coordination, or a similar operational role
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to manage schedules and adapt quickly to changing operational demands
  • Competence in accurately recording incidents and escalating issues when necessary
  • Confidence in supporting frontline drivers during incidents and emergency situations
  • Experience in engaging with external stakeholders to manage service delivery and disruptions
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed problem-solving abilities
  • A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence and relevant driver authority, along with a Working with Children Check — or a willingness to obtain them (to support driving duties when required)
