We are recruiting a talented Managing Consultant with liability, property, construction, manufacturing, fire protection or similar experience to join our global team.
As a valued Sigma7 risk engineer you will:
- Assess risk exposures and help mitigate loss from perils such as fire, explosion, machinery breakdown, natural hazards, construction practices and business interruption
- Work with leading insurance and industry clients across interesting sectors including power, chem/pharm, retail, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing & logistics
- Receive training & development to transfer your skills to the world of risk engineering and enjoy the support of a 170-strong global team

Reporting to:
Director of Sigma7 Risk Engineering, Australia
Location:
Anywhere in Australia (home based)
Key role objective:
To provide excellent quality, tailored, independent risk engineering advice and support to our clients.
Role content:
- Provide account management support for direct clients, insurers clients and broker clients.
- Provide support for business development opportunities across the sectors in which Sigma7 operates.
- Undertake peer to peer report reviews providing technical input and signing-off on report outputs prior to Client submission. Provide technical mentoring support for Sigma7’s consultants across the global business.
- Undertake property risk engineering surveys to understand site operations and evaluate exposures from perils such as fire, explosion, machinery breakdown, natural hazards, and business interruption.
- Produce detailed risk engineering survey reports addressing all aspects of site/project operations, hazards and risk exposures and risk management practices.
- Identify recommendations to minimise loss potential and advise clients on why and how these should be implemented
- Provide loss prevention and asset protection / operational risk management advice to clients, insurance company partners and other stakeholders.
- Undertake desktop reviews of project plans and documents to provide a professional view of risks and risk quality for insurance underwriters and/or end clients.
- For engineers with a construction industry background, undertake construction risk engineering surveys for building and construction / erection projects, relating to insurance covers including: Construction All Risks and Erection All Risks; Third Party Liability and Employers Liability; Non-negligent Damage; Existing Structures; Delay in Start-up and Advanced Loss of Profit. Undertake formal Fire Risk Assessments and Construction Fire Strategy Planning for contractors.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in an insurance company or brokerage firm. Applications from candidates with longer career history are welcomed.
Personality:
An inquisitive, independent thinker. Self-motivated and an autonomous operator. Good verbal and written communicator, with a consultative approach. Able to think technically and commercially.
