About the Role
Full‑time position (38 hours per week).
Minimum four (4) days per week in the office, including guiding and coordinating the IT & Data team to establish one regular weekly day where the whole team works together onsite.
Base office: Chatswood, with occasional travel between Link Wentworth offices in metro Sydney.
As the Manager, IT & Data, you will lead the organisation’s full technology environment, encompassing enterprise cyber security, IT infrastructure, applications, systems management and internal customer support. A key component of this role is ensuring data integrity and custodianship, implementing strong data governance frameworks, and enhancing enterprise data quality and reliability.
You will bring experience managing internal IT service models while also having strong exposure to or experience running a Managed Service Provider (MSP), enabling you to effectively oversee outsourced partners and integrate them with in‑house teams. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, values led leader who can drive clarity in team functions, build capability, and ensure high performing IT service delivery.
You will report directly to the Head of Technology and lead five specialist direct reports across IT Operations and Data.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Lead IT operations and infrastructure management to ensure availability, performance and alignment with organisational needs, including business continuity and enterprise architecture.
- Oversee cybersecurity, risk and compliance, including proactive control implementation and disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage enterprise applications, integrations, release cycles, incident resolution and change control.
- Drive enterprise data governance, ensuring data integrity, quality controls, secure management and effective database administration.
- Develop and guide the IT & Data team, clearly defining roles, functions and performance expectations.
- Lead the establishment of a weekly in‑office team day that strengthens collaboration and consistency across IT & Data.
- Manage financials including operational/capital budgets, vendor oversight and IT performance benchmarking. Oversee the performance of outsourced Managed Service Providers, ensuring seamless alignment with internal service delivery.
Who We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (degree strongly preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar IT leadership role.
- Experience running or working within a Managed Service Provider environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data structures, data integrity and data quality.
- Extensive experience with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, systems management and operational support.
- Proven ability to manage an internal IT service model, including designing team structures and functions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills grounded in values, accountability and service excellence.
- Experience managing mixed delivery models (outsourced MSP + internal specialists).
- Strong project management capability and IT financial management experience.
