We have an opportunity for a Full-Time Lifestyle Assistant to join us working with a group of awesome, hard-working, and caring individuals.
Responsibilities or duties
The Lifestyle Assistant's primary responsibility is to assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and lifestyle programs which enable clients to participate in a variety of experiences which improve their quality of life, taking into account the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of each individual within Anglicare Southern Queensland (Anglicare). The Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for ensuring client safety at all times and providing services to clients under the direction and supervision of a Diversional Therapist and/or other team members as per the Community Services branch structure. The hours of this role are expected between 8 am - 4pm and the role includes driving a Minibus and transporting clients to the Respite centre.
Qualifications or requirements
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Valid Aged Care Worker Screening Check:
- Current National Police Check OR
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- NB: NDIS Worker Screening Clearance is mandatory for Services/Facilities delivering services to NDIS clients.
- Statutory Declaration if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia after turning 16.
- Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle
- Dual Certification in Cert III in aged care (or equivalent) and Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or equivalent) preferred
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification

Experience needed
About You:
An experienced Aged Care or Disability Services professional, you will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes:
- Experience in conducting activity programs/therapy, diversional therapy and recreations.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuously upgrading skills, knowledge and competencies.
- Experience in care of the elderly or evidence of interest in working within aged care.
- Experience within a community services, not for profit or similar organisation.
