The Workers Compensation Junior Case Manager is responsible for assisting in managing workers' compensation claims. This role involves supporting the claims process, coordinating with injured employees, medical providers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management and compliance with legal and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Management: Assist in the review and evaluation of workers' compensation medical expense-only claims to determine eligibility and appropriate benefits.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between injured workers, medical providers, and internal departments to facilitate timely communication and resolution of claims.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, including medical records, correspondence, and relevant documentation.
Data Entry: Enter and update claim information in the case management system; generate reports as needed.
Follow-Up: Regularly follow up on open claims to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure timely resolution.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with state regulations and organisational policies.
Support: Provide administrative support to the Senior Case Manager and assist in special projects as assigned.
Education
Key skills and experience
Higher school certificate or above.
Experience
Previous experience in workers' compensation, insurance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
A basic understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations is desirable.
Attributes
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Strong customer service orientation
