About Us

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.

We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

Are you a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic looking for a rewarding opportunity in the mining industry? Join our team, where you’ll work with a dedicated maintenance crew ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy mobile equipment (7/7 ROSTER).

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, and maintenance of a fleet of underground mobile plant equipment, including:

• Loaders (e.g., Sandvik LH517, CAT R2900)
• Trucks (e.g., Sandvik TH663, CAT AD45)
• Drills (e.g., Sandvik DD421& DS421, Epiroc Simba E7)
• Ancillary equipment such as IT loaders, Telehandlers, Agi’s & Spraymecs

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on heavy diesel equipment
• Perform scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to improve fleet reliability
• Maintain accurate service records and follow site safety procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)
• Experience in underground mining maintenance
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
