Shape the Future of Premium Malt Production
Our client is one of the world’s leading malt producers, transforming high-quality barley into the premium malt used by brewers and distillers globally. As part of our BU Executive Committee, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our end‑to‑end industrial operations, ensuring our facilities consistently deliver excellence in safety, quality, efficiency, and innovation.
This is a pivotal strategic leadership role overseeing the full industrial transformation process—Steeping, Germination, and Kilning—and driving the development of our industrial assets and operational culture.
Your new role
Lead operations for a global agrifood business with a strong commitment to long‑term sustainability, and influence and implement the BU strategic roadmap alongside the leadership team.
Shape a high‑performance culture grounded in safety, quality, and continuous improvement whilst working with a passionate international network, including head office's subject-matter expert.
Operational Leadership:
- Develop and execute manufacturing plans to consistently achieve volume and quality targets.
- Build and embed a culture of continuous improvement: identify business drivers, prepare business cases, and execute improvement initiatives.
- Ensure best-in-class manufacturing practices in collaboration with head office.
Quality Management:
- Guarantee the integrity of malt quality standards across raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, Halal certification, and quality systems.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, norms, and internal policies.
Technical & CAPEX Management:
- Identify, justify, and lead strategic investment projects for the Business Unit.
- Oversee full project life cycles in partnership with head office’s technical teams.
Safety Leadership:
- Champion Malteurop’s Group Safety Culture and the deployment of CARE Standards.
- Foster a workplace environment that prioritises accountability, employee wellbeing, and safety excellence.

- Proven team building and people management experience

- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
- 10+ years’ experience in operations management, ideally in the agrifood or processing industry
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and execute manufacturing plans to consistently achieve volume and quality targets.
