Background
Looking for a bit more balance and a clear path to a permanent role? We’re currently looking for experienced HVAC Technicians to join the maintenance teams at major Government Health Precincts in Townsville.
This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity, meaning you can get your foot in the door with a stable government body and transition into a permanent career. Plus, you’ll move onto a 9-day fortnight schedule, giving you every second Monday or Friday off.
The Payoff
The Rate: $56.95 per hour + Super.

The Work
You’ll be part of the Facilities Management team, ensuring the hospital’s critical systems stay online. It’s high-stakes maintenance where your technical skills actually make a difference to clinical services.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of essential refrigeration and medical cooling storage.
- Reactive and preventative maintenance of cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, and split systems.
- Fault-finding and diagnostics across the entire hospital campus.
- Ensuring all work hits strict health, safety, and government standards.
What You Need
We need technicians who take pride in their work and understand the requirements of a hospital environment.
Qualifications
- Trade Qualified: Cert III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Licensing: Restricted Electrical Licence and a valid Driver’s Licence.
- Compliance: Ability to pass a Police Check and provide vaccination records (standard for hospital sites).
- Rights: Full Australian Working Rights.
- Maintenance of essential refrigeration and medical cooling storage.
