Summary:
The Human Resource Business Partner will work closely with business leaders to ensure the business attracts and retains talent within the relevant market. This position will be based at Padget.
The position of Human Resource Business Partner will be responsible for:
Recruitment & Selection
- Supporting in the management of HR lifecycle initiatives including recruitment, onboarding and performance development.
- Lead recruitment initiatives to support the business grow. Advertise, market and source candidates across the business. Lead EVP initiatives to drive employee engagement and support attraction of talent.
- Support leaders through booking interviews, drafting interview guides and actively participating on interview panels.
- Drafting employment contracts and drive the development of HBT’s onboarding programs.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- This position will support managers and lead performance management, workplace investigations and grievance investigations, through impartiality, confidentiality and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with state-based legislation. Facilitate training sessions to Supervisors and Managers on their duty of care responsibilities, including respectful workplace behaviours, diversity and inclusion.
- Support leaders in employee and industrial relations matters.
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers on conflict resolution techniques, communication skills, and effective problem-solving strategies.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping for interactions and case management activities.
Reporting
- Assist in the design, development and co-ordination of HR initiatives and system implementation.
- Maintain systems to effectively report on employee movements and changes.
Training – Leadership & People Development Skills
- Support leaders in understanding and applying legal and ethical responsibilities toward employees.
- Develop HBT’s Leadership Capability model in line with organisational values and safety strategy.
- Coach leaders and supervisors in effective people management skills, including organisational values-based leadership, conflict resolution, duty of care, performance management and development.
- Support leaders to build inclusive, respectful and psychologically safe workplaces.
- Develop capability in managing diverse teams, shift-based workforces and high-performance technical roles.
- Partner with HR and WHS teams to ensure training aligns with relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards.
Previous Knowledge & Experience:
- Knowledge of HR functions including recruitment and selection, employment law and equal employment opportunity practices.
- Previous experience providing industrial relations/employee relations advice to managers.
- Previous experience facilitating workplace training and initiatives that drive employee engagement.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills with the commitment to confidentially and ethically manage sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
