What you’ll be doing
As a Flight Analyst, you’ll play a key role in maximising revenue performance by actively managing flight level availability across your portfolio. Working closely with Demand Analysts and Revenue Management stakeholders, you’ll make data led decisions based on booking patterns, competitor behaviour, and changing market conditions.
Responsibilities or duties
- Actively managing flight level availability within the focused activity window to drive revenue maximisation
- Setting up, maintaining and monitoring alerts in Sabre RO, analysing situations and implementing availability adjustments
- Reviewing and managing Sabre DA recommendations, assessing effectiveness and suggesting improvements
- Monitoring competitor pricing strategies and implementing tactical responses aligned to Virgin Australia’s positioning
- Actively managing flight level overbooking parameters to capture revenue upside
- Conducting regular post departure analysis to identify performance drivers and improvement opportunities
- Supporting event set ups outside system range to ensure optimal availability
- Providing demand feasibility insights to support continuous forecast accuracy improvement
- Identifying opportunities to improve revenue management processes and system usage
- Working closely with Demand Analysts, Revenue Managers and Pricing teams to deliver revenue maximising outcomes
- Achieving RASK and Revenue targets for markets within your responsibility
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as STEM, aviation, travel, economics or similar
- Proven experience in analytical roles with a strong commercial mindset
- The ability to identify optimisation opportunities and translate insights into action
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Solid knowledge of Revenue Management principles
- Strong Excel capability
- The confidence to work independently while collaborating closely within a team
- Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
