The Position
The Finance Manager will be an integral part of STACK APAC’s finance team based in Malaysia. The role will report to the Finance Director (APAC) and support the team in accounting, tax compliance, audit, accounting software implementation, financial reporting, ensuring local regulatory requirement are met and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on accounting for STACK Malaysia Group while coordinating with teams within APAC
- Preparing management accounts through the Group’s accounting system (NetSuite)
- Supporting the accounts payable process for both project(s) and office(s)
- Managing income tax filings, SST filings and other compliance matters for the Group in coordination with appointed tax agents
- Managing the annual audit process including the audit plan, timelines, and information flow
- Collaborating with the head office team on capital calls and coordinating funds flow
- Handling monthly drawdowns and periodic reporting on external borrowings
- Supporting the project managers in maintaining up-to-date project cost trackers and preparing budget and variance analysis
- Take ownership of all Malaysian and Johor local regulation requirements
- Actively contributing and providing input to improve the Group’s accounting software
- Providing inputs on and managing the Group’s finance processes and controls
- Administering the Group’s bank accounts
- Supporting the monthly payroll process
- Assisting the team with asset and portfolio level reporting
- Ad-hoc analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- 8+ years of relevant prior experience; Experience in a Big 4 firm desirable
- Strong understanding of MFRS accounting standards; Brief understanding of SFRS or IFRS is advantageous
- Experience managing a group audit
- Strong personal and professional integrity
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to take ownership of work and work independently, but also function within a lean team with senior professionals.
