As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining critical customer-facing and operational systems across our Retail technology landscape.

Working across initiatives including customer identity, digital channels, metering and account management, you'll collaborate with product teams, delivery partners and engineers to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions that improve customer experiences and business outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions using modern engineering practices and technologies.
• Lead the delivery of complex features and enhancements across customer and operational platforms.
• Drive engineering excellence through test automation, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to improve reliability, efficiency and deployment outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, delivery and technology teams to define requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to engineers across the team.
• Champion Agile delivery practices, engineering standards and secure software development principles.
• Actively integrate AI tooling into your daily engineering workflow — from code generation and review to architecture exploration — raising the bar on what one engineer can deliver.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Extensive experience developing applications using Node.js, TypeScript and modern frameworks such as NestJS and React.
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Expertise in automated testing, software quality practices and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Experience working with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong knowledge of database design, optimisation and SQL.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and large-scale technology programs.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and mentoring skills.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot or similar) and a drive to continuously explore how AI can improve your engineering output.
