The Role
Adbri Cement is seeking a motivated Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Electrical Maintenance Team at our Birkenhead site.
This permanent day work role offers the opportunity to work on complex fixed plant in a heavy industrial environment, while enjoying the stability of a metro-based site and a supportive, team-focused culture.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting preventative maintenance programs, and contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives across the site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an industrial electrician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, working collaboratively, and being part of a business that prioritises safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, instrumentation and control system maintenance across fixed plant equipment
- Diagnose faults across electrical systems, PLCs and plant control systems to minimise downtime
- Undertake planned and preventative maintenance activities to improve plant reliability
- Support shutdowns, plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with PLC and SCADA fault finding, minor modifications and system optimisation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records within SAP (or similar CMMS)
- Promote and uphold strong safety, quality and environmental standards
About You
You are a trade-qualified Electrician who thrives in an industrial environment and enjoys solving problems.
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (essential)
- Current Electrical Licence
- Experience within heavy industry, manufacturing, mining or processing environments
- Demonstrated PLC fault-finding capability (Siemens, Schneider or similar preferred)
- Exposure to SCADA systems (Citect or similar)
- Experience with instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature) highly regarded
- High-voltage switching experience (advantageous)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability across electrical and control systems
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment
- Availability for call-outs, shutdowns and occasional shift coverage
