Responsibilities or duties

As the Digital Business Analyst, you will identify and prioritise business needs and then work with our teams to deliver high quality Digital solutions on time and on budget. You will work closely with the product owner, senior stakeholders, delivery teams and vendors to envisage, shape, elicit, analyse, model, communicate and deliver new initiatives and features.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Work with the Digital BA Lead, Senior Business Analysts, Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Owners and other stakeholders to discover and shape initiatives by the development of product vision, definition of features and scope etc. and support their delivery with Scrum teams.
  • Participate in discovery/shaping of new initiatives.
  • Select and use effective business analysis techniques to envisage, elicit, analyse, model and communicate features.
  • Support the identification, prioritisation, elaboration and delivery of high-value features on-time and on-budget.
  • Manage the initiative backlog for your assigned squad.
  • Understand the Jetstar Delivery Processes including Agile ways of working and release management.
  • Work with immediate and extended teams (including external vendors and agencies) to deliver high-quality Digital solutions that meet business needs.
  • As a BA you may be required to facilitate Agile work practices such as sprint planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, reporting and retrospectives to drive delivery of a cross-functional team.
  • Identify, remove and escalate team impediments and risks.
  • Adapt to work in parallel with Agile teams and more traditional Waterfall teams where required to deliver initiatives.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Experience needed

  • 2+ years’ experience working in business analysis using a range of BA techniques.
  • Intermediate experience working in an Agile environment, in particular Scrum.
  • Experience delivering Digital solutions.

Skills:

  • Proficient analytical skills to provide insights as well as recommendations for changes to convince key decision makers of business benefits of the proposed solutions.
  • Stakeholder management skills, excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organisation.
  • Has proficient business analysis skills and is willing to contribute to improvements to the BA team and its practices.
  • Has excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate business needs, issues and requirements across a range of stakeholders.
  • Has a can-do attitude, takes ownership and drives outcomes.
