Background information about the job or company
This position is subject to Machinery of Government (MoG) arrangements. As a result, some roles may be transferred to the newly established Development Coordination Authority (DCA). If this position is transferred, your employment will move to the DCA at a future date, and all existing employment conditions under the NSW RFS will be fully maintained.
This opportunity offers:
- Ongoing employment
- Full time role & 35 hour working week
- RFS Level 8/9
- Attractive annual salary $115,109 - $127,411 p.a. plus 12% superannuation
- Location: Batemans Bay and West Pennant Hills (hybrid working arrangements considered)
- Four positions available (two positions at Batemans Bay and two positions at West Pennant Hills)

Responsibilities or duties
This is an exciting opportunity to join our skilled and specialist Development Assessment and Planning Team. Exploring a wide variety of tasks including development and planning assessment within NSW in and adjacent to bush fire prone areas, providing advice to comply with legislative, policy and procedural requirement as delegated to the NSW Rural Fire Service. You'll work to build and develop relations across government to help the industry provide improved and practical bush fire outcomes, educating stakeholders on standards, mitigation and bush fire protection.
Qualifications or requirements
To thrive in this role, you will:

- Have the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Take initiative to assist in managing a high volume of development applications and strategic planning proposals from a diverse range of Local and State Government authorities.
