JOB DETAILS:
Background
This is a Crown Prosecutor position within the Attorney-General's Department - Director of Public Prosecutions.
Responsibilities/Roles:
Provide expert legal advice on complex prosecutions.
Appear in Supreme Court trials, appeals, pleas.
Conduct committals and contested summary prosecutions.
Prepare briefs of evidence and recommend indictments.
Mentor junior prosecutors and support police.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Admitted/eligible as barrister or solicitor in Australia.
Proven experience in complex criminal law and jury trials.
High‑level knowledge of DPP Guidelines, NT Criminal Code, Uniform Evidence Law.
Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently under pressure.
Understanding of Aboriginal issues relevant to prosecution.
Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
