Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will assist in delivering accurate cost estimates, provide technical insights, and support the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects.

POSITION SUMMARY
The construction estimator is responsible for assisting with the preparation of detailed cost estimates, assessing project requirements, and providing engineering input to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery. This role demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills to support projects primarily in water infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, and related civil works.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Estimating & Tendering: Assist with the preparation of accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions. Analyse specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Project Support: Provide engineering guidance to project teams, assisting with design, planning, and problem-solving throughout project delivery.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams to obtain competitive pricing and ensure project requirements are met.
- Cost Management: Assist with monitoring budgets, tracking project costs, and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of estimates, project costs, and technical assessments. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Environment: Civil construction worksites primarily focused on water infrastructure.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Proven background in civil construction, with experience in estimating or engineering roles. Water industry experience is highly desirable.
- Education: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of estimating software, contract administration, and project costing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
CONSIDERATIONS
- Familiarity with Western Australian water infrastructure standards and regulations.
- Ability to work on-site to assist in the set up delivery of the project from time to time.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
