The Opportunity

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the progress of civil construction works to ensure compliance with design, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Ensure OH&S standards are met, identifying and reporting any non-conformances.
  • Analyse and resolve issues with compliance to plans and specifications, recommending alternative approaches as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, providing clear and practical feedback.
  • Negotiate confidently with contractors and suppliers to resolve disputes around quality, cost, or scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation at all times, ensuring all final compliance documentation is processed.
  • Mentor and support less experienced staff, sharing your expertise to develop their skills.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Diploma in Engineering
  • MRWA accreditation (South East Water, Yarra Valley Water, Greater Western Water, Barwon Water) or be an immediate candidate for accreditation
  • Demonstrated experience in land development projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and testing
  • Good knowledge of applicable specifications and standards
  • Proven experience in civil engineering with established safety, quality, and environmental management processes
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Consultancy experience (preferred but not essential)
