Description

The Construction Administrator plays a key supporting role within the residential construction operations team, assisting in the delivery of house and land projects by managing project workflows, documentation, and permits from pre-site through to handover. The role also focuses on building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality construction outcomes.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Maintain construction registers, manage electronic and printed site files, site management plans, and keep task management programs current;
  • Handle all Council and Authority applications, DLAP and Pre-Site inspections, utility connections/disconnections, and submission of occupancy permits and builder declarations;
  • Track weekly progress claims with the construction team and issue progress claim requests to the accounts team;
  • File handover documents and photos, prepare weekly meeting minutes, and ensure all reports are generated and issued within specified timeframes;
  • Act as the key point of contact for site supervisors and construction managers, supporting smooth onsite workflow across all internal teams.

Minimum requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in construction management, building, or a related discipline (preferred); equivalent experience will be considered;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a construction, building, or project administration role;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and staff;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook), BuildPass and Monday.com;
  • Familiarity with residential construction processes, council permit applications, and OH&S documentation is advantageous;
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously, show initiative, and self-motivate with minimal supervision.
