Communications Manager – Brisbane QLD

Full time | Permanent | Global Infrastructure

Hewitt is growing…… In this newly created role, we are searching for a Communications Manager who understands how to unlock the goodness within our business to share our stories with customers and consumers.

About the role

You will be the voice of a business that owns its product from paddock to plate, connecting our teams, international customers, and the Australian rural community. We’re looking for a communicator who can adapt across audiences with calm confidence, strong strategic thinking, and a genuine love of writing.

Why this role matters

As our portfolio of products and brands continues to expand across international markets, Hewitt is seeking an exceptional Communications Manager to lead the organisation’s narrative and elevate its value proposition globally. This role will play a critical part in shaping Hewitt’s corporate reputation, supporting commercial growth, and positioning the business for its next phase of scale. You will lead corporate reputation, external communications, internal communications, and executive messaging – translating our end-to-end advantage into clear, purposeful storytelling that supports our global growth.

The role is responsible for establishing a consistent, authoritative voice within the sector, strengthening Hewitt’s reputation, and clearly communicating the organisation’s unique end-to-end supply chain capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the company’s strategic narrative, translating our integrated paddock-to-plate model (Producer + Processor + Brand Owner) into clear, consistent communications.
  • Align global and local messaging, ensuring our teams across markets remain connected to our culture, purpose, and business strategy.
  • Lead internal communications and employee engagement, creating clear, high-quality messaging that informs and connects our workforce.
  • Drive brand and sustainability storytelling, highlighting our leadership in regenerative agriculture and animal welfare for key audiences.
  • Support corporate reputation and leadership communications, including executive messaging, issues management, and a considered approach to corporate social media.

About You

You are a strategic and confident communicator who can translate complex ideas into clear, compelling stories. Commercially minded, you understand the difference between a commodity and a premium brand and how strong narratives build reputation and trust. You thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and bring calm judgement when working with senior stakeholders. Most importantly, you’re passionate about purposeful storytelling and excited to help a values-led Australian food company grow its voice on the world stage.

You will bring

  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling stories across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of the difference between a commodity and a brand; experience in food, FMCG, or retail supply chains is highly regarded.
  • Experience working across offshore markets and with diverse cultures is an advantage
  • Calm, adaptable and digitally savvy, able to manage competing priorities while leveraging modern communications platforms and tools.
  • You understand the difference between a commodity and a brand. Experience in food, FMCG, or retail supply chains is highly advantageous
  • Confident using digital tools and social platforms, able to represent the business online and leverage channels to maximise reach and impact.
  • Relevant qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline and proven experience in communications, corporate affairs, or public relations

Life at Hewitt

Over the past decade, Hewitt has evolved from its livestock production origins into a global, sustainable protein producer, with premium organic and grass-fed brands stocked by leading retailers across Australia, the United States and Asia.

Guided by a vision to feed the world with a system that lasts forever, Hewitt delivers ethical, nutritious protein at global scale. Our fully integrated supply chain – spanning owned cattle stations, trusted producer partners, processing and retail – provides unmatched transparency, quality and resilience, setting Hewitt apart within the global food system.

Hewitt is a hands-on, collaborative business where being present matters. Whether in the office, on station, or in production, you’re contributing to something real: real food, real impact, real teamwork.
