About the Role

The Commercial Analyst – Agribusiness supports commercial decision-making across Hewitt’s agribusiness portfolio through clear analysis and financial modelling. Working closely with senior leadership, you will analyse livestock, operational and market data to generate insights that inform planning, pricing and investment decisions. Your work will help drive performance, shape strategy and support the continued growth of the portfolio.

About You

You are a commercially minded analyst with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights. You are comfortable working across finance, operations and strategy, and you enjoy supporting practical decision-making and engaging with senior stakeholders. An interest in agribusiness or asset-based industries will help you quickly build an understanding of the portfolio and its key drivers.

  • Analyse livestock and agribusiness performance to understand key drivers across production, pricing, costs and seasonal conditions.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support budgets, forecasts, long-range planning and investment decisions.
  • Extract and interpret herd and flock performance insights from livestock management systems to inform operational improvements.
  • Support evaluation of acquisitions, expansion opportunities and capital projects through DCF modelling and commercial analysis.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, particularly in Excel, including forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Ability to interpret operational and financial data and communicate key drivers clearly to stakeholders.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to test assumptions and evaluate trade-offs.
  • Experience in a commercial, financial or analytical role where insights inform real business decisions.
  • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
