Where you'll be working
Join the Forensic Medical Unit (FMU) at Blacktown Hospital and become part of a highly specialised multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, culturally safe and evidence based care to victims of interpersonal and intimate partner violence across Western Sydney Local Health District.
Working closely with the Integrated Violence Prevention and Response Service (IVPRS), NSW Police, judicial services and community agencies, you will contribute to a service committed to clinical excellence, advocacy and patient centred care.
- Work within a respected medical led forensic service supporting vulnerable communities
- Collaborate with experienced clinicians, external agencies and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to education, mentoring, research and workforce development initiatives
- Access ongoing professional development and advanced forensic nursing experience
- Be part of a supportive and values driven team focused on integrated patient care
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist 2, you will provide advanced forensic nursing care and expert clinical support to patients experiencing violence, abuse and neglect. You will deliver holistic and trauma informed care while ensuring high quality forensic documentation, evidence collection and medico legal reporting.
- Provide forensic assessments, injury documentation, photography and evidence collection
- Deliver culturally safe, trauma informed nursing care for victims of violence and abuse
- Participate in the 24/7 on call roster and extended business hours service delivery
- Prepare timely medico legal reports and provide expert evidence when required
- Mentor clinicians, contribute to education programs and support service improvement initiatives
- Provide forensic assessments, injury documentation, photography and evidence collection
