About Glenn Innes
Glen Innes Hospital is a 24-bed Level 3 rural hospital in the New England Northwest region, providing emergency, medical, obstetric and day surgery services to the local community.
The 4-bed Emergency Department delivers Level 3 emergency care, managing minor injuries and illness, resuscitation and stabilisation prior to transfer when required. Supported by strong partnerships with NSW Ambulance, local paramedics and Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, the team also has access to camera-linked retrieval and higher-acuity specialist services.
An exciting $50 million hospital redevelopment is underway, including a new purpose-built Emergency Department designed to support contemporary models of care and meet the future healthcare needs of the Glen Innes community.
The Opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Manager - Acute & Critical Care Services will provide operational and clinical leadership across key acute service areas, with a strong focus on:
- Enhancing clinical supervision and support for nursing teams within Critical Care and Acute specialty areas
- Leading day-to-day operational management of designated clinical services
- Supporting patient flow optimisation across Emergency, Inpatient and Sub-Acute services
- Driving quality improvement initiatives, innovation and change management projects
- Strengthening workforce capability, collaboration and succession planning across nursing leadership portfolios
- Supporting recruitment, rostering and people management functions within a Monday to Friday leadership model
- Building a positive team culture that encourages career development and rural nursing opportunities
The position also contributes to shared leadership capability across the health service, improving organisational resilience and supporting continuity during periods of leave or workforce transition.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity for a contemporary nurse leader who is passionate about rural healthcare, workforce development, patient flow improvement and leading sustainable change within a supportive multidisciplinary environment
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience in nursing leadership within acute, emergency, critical care or inpatient settings
- Proven capability in people management, recruitment and rostering
- Experience leading change management and quality improvement initiatives
- Strong communication, collaboration and clinical leadership skills
- Willingness and ability to participate in a Monday to Friday operational leadership roster

- Relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management.
