Tamworth Hospital are looking for Assistants in Nursing (AIN’s) to work across the multiple wards within their facility. Looking to progress your career? Take this opportunity to rotate across a variety of departments or develop your expertise within a speciality area that aligns with your passion. You’ll be joining a professional, friendly and highly supportive team that is committed to guiding and empowering you throughout every stage of your nursing journey.
You won’t be working alone. You’ll be provided with supernumerary shifts to support learning of the role. You will receive ongoing support from the EN’s, RN’s and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). Where you'll be working:
Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), servicing a population of over 180,000 people. As a major rural referral facility, Tamworth Hospital provides a wide range of specialist services, including emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, critical care, mental health, rehabilitation, and outpatient services.
Located in the vibrant regional centre of Tamworth, the hospital is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle, and offers opportunities to work alongside clinicians involved in research, education, and innovation. Requirements:
Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year), or currently enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diplomas of Nursing (completion of identified foundational units in practice AND 120 hours of clinical placement).

- - To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
