About the role

Based between our head office and tender offices, you will play a key role in developing high-quality, persuasive tender submissions that clearly articulate win themes and client value. Using your strong writing expertise, you will help shape compelling, client-focused content in close collaboration with technical teams and key stakeholders.

You will also contribute to improving content quality, consistency, and internal writing capability across the business.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Lead and coordinate content development for tender submissions, client presentations, and interactive bid processes
  • Analyse tender requirements to develop clear response strategies, structure, and key messaging aligned to win themes
  • Write, refine, and edit high-quality content, translating complex technical information into clear and compelling narratives
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, bid managers, and technical teams to develop accurate and persuasive submission content
  • Develop, maintain, and improve a centralised content library, including case studies, project examples, CVs, and standard responses
  • Review and proofread submissions to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and alignment with brand tone
  • Contribute to bid kick-offs, strategy sessions, and post-submission reviews to support continuous improvement

Qualifications or requirements

You are a confident, detail-driven Bid Writer who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. You combine strong writing ability with commercial awareness and the confidence to influence stakeholders and shape high-quality submissions.

Experience needed

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, business, or a related discipline
  • At least 4 years’ experience in bid or tender writing, ideally within civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive written content
  • Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with InDesign, Illustrator, or SharePoint is highly regarded
  • A collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams
