Background

At Carma, we’re more than just a car company, we’re on a mission to shake up the Australian automotive industry! As a digital pre-owned car dealership, we’re turning the car-buying experience into a hassle-free, seamless journey that customers can truly enjoy. With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we’re powered by the best people and we’d love for you to come along for the ride.

We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician who loves getting to the bottom of tricky faults and solving problems the right way. If you enjoy a good diagnostic challenge, sharing your knowledge with the team, and getting vehicles fixed right the first time, you’ll feel right at home at Carma.

What you'll be doing:

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults across a wide range of vehicles using structured fault-finding and root cause analysis
  • Validate repairs through testing, live data analysis and test drives to ensure strong first-time-fix outcomes
  • Document findings clearly and help cut down repeat faults and wasted parts
  • Act as a technical escalation point for the workshop, supporting the team with guidance on complex problems
  • Mentor the team, suggest process improvements, and see repairs through to final validation (pink/blue slips if licensed).

Qualifications

Okay, let’s talk about you:

  • 5+ years as a Light Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic skills
  • Experienced in electrical diagnosis, CAN systems, and modern vehicle electronics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Clear communicator when documenting faults and repairs
  • NSW Full drivers licence, able to drive manual and automatic

What's in it for you?

  • Brand new workshop based in St Peters, with state-of-the-art equipment
  • We wouldn’t be a car business if we didn’t give you some $$ of our Carma cars, parts and NRMA cover.
  • Join a team that values quality as much as quantity — we believe in working hard, having fun and delivering an exceptional product.
  • At Carma, we’re all about fostering an amazing culture, where you can bring your best self to work! We value collaboration, innovation and having a laugh at work. Plus, we’re committed to diversity, inclusion and safe work practices, so no matter your background or experience (or car brand of choice!) we’d love to hear from you. Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments during the interview process.
