About The Opportunity
The Assistant Principal - Junior School at St Bonaventure's College is a significant leadership role responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Junior School (Prep - Year 4) in alignment with the College's vision, mission, and values. This role emphasises the integration of academic excellence and student wellbeing, ensuring that every student is known, loved, and supported in their educational journey. Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) invites applications for this School Senior Leadership position with the capability to support the Principal in:
- building the religious life of the school and a vibrant Catholic identity within the school community;
- growing the engagement, progress, achievement and wellbeing of each student in the school; and
- building a sustainable school community, ensuring stewardship of resources with transparency, accountability and compliance.
Please note: This is a substantive 5 year appointment as Assistant Principal (with a further 5 years offer subject to a positive review), with an underlying continuing teaching status.
About You
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
- Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).

- Ability to lead faith-based initiatives and support the spiritual development of students and staff.
- Extensive experience in educational leadership.
- Strong track record of implementing innovative teaching practices, curriculum development, and improving student outcomes in accordance with AITSL standards.
