Job Summary
As an Airside Operations Controller you will act as the central command point for real-time coordination of passenger movements and airside bus operations. This role ensures seamless alignment between aircraft readiness, boarding activities, and fleet dispatch to maintain safe, efficient, and on-time airport operations.
Responsibilities or duties
- Coordinate passenger boarding and disembarkation in alignment with aircraft turnaround timelines.
- Plan, allocate, and dispatch buses based on flight schedules, stand locations, and passenger demand.
- Serve as the central control point for all airside bus movements.
- Monitor and maintain safe separation between vehicles, aircraft, and airside infrastructure.
- Proactively manage real-time disruptions, including delays, equipment failures, and congestion.
- Communicate continuously with airline, ramp, and driver teams to ensure operational alignment.
- Enforce airside safety regulations and take immediate corrective action when required.
- Monitor flight schedules and adjust transport plans dynamically to reflect operational changes.
- Track fleet availability, utilisation, and serviceability to optimise resource deployment.
- Coordinate contingency transport solutions during peak periods or irregular operations.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and incident reports in real time.
- Support investigations into safety incidents, delays, or service failures.
- Provide direction and prioritisation to drivers during high-pressure or time-critical situations.
- Liaise with maintenance teams to report vehicle defects and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, turnaround times, and passenger flow.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Australian Citizen/Resident with unlimited work rights.
- Possession of a valid Australian driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong situational awareness.
- Stakeholder communication and coordination.
- Operational planning and logistics control.
- Safety compliance and risk management
- Maintains composure under pressure and presents themselves with confidence.
