What you'll do

As Staff Engineer you are responsible for maintaining coding quality, design and implementation of new and agreed architectures and the overall coding output from a squad. Coach and guide the software engineers as well as the main point of contact for technology matters within the squad. You will also participate in forums within the domain/tribe to share knowledge, experience, best practices and collaboratively redefine the new architecture of the system

Craft innovative and high-performing solutions: You'll be instrumental in developing top-tier, scalable, and efficient technical solutions.

Lead technical delivery and foster collaboration: Take charge of the squad's technical journey, from design to deployment, while working closely with Product Owners, BAs, and the Engineering Team.

Cultivate talent and build strong teams: Identify promising engineers, contribute to recruitment and onboarding, and empower your team through coaching and mentorship.

Drive best practices and strategic alignment: Collaborate with fellow Staff Engineers, architecture & security teams to ensure consistent best practices and squad alignment.

Define visionary technical solutions: Partner with other teams and architects to shape the technical roadmap for all initiatives your squad undertakes.

What You’ll Bring

Bringing with you 8+ years experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will have demonstrated capabilities to grow and mentor teams whilst defining and implementing robust, scalable, and secure full-stack architectures using best practices. Drive the technical vision for major product components and systems following best design principles.

Tech Savvy: You are a seasoned professional in .Net development, experienced in Microservices architecture, and proficient with React. Your skill set also includes a strong understanding of Full Stack build tools and expertise in both .Net and JavaScript/TypeScript.

Federated Services: Demonstrate an understanding of federated services, including how data standards are maintained across multiple systems. Experience in Apollo Studio would be an asset.

AI Adoption: A strong aptitude for leveraging AI-driven tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, for development. Contributing to guardrails around the AI frameworks.

Database Whiz: Your expertise extends to both SQL and NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB or similar.

Cloud Confident: You're comfortable navigating a modern cloud environment (Azure preferred) and its associated services, with a good understanding of ETL processes and Cron jobs.

System Guardian: You'll oversee the health, performance, and scalability of our production systems, troubleshooting complex issues and implementing effective monitoring with tools like Dynatrace or Splunk.

DevOps Dynamo: You're skilled in CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform), DevOps, and automation, and have experience with event streaming and message queues.
