The opportunity
This role plays a key part in shaping QBE’s data foundations to support AI and advanced analytics. You will drive improvements in data quality, governance, and metadata, ensuring the organisation has trusted, scalable, and AI‑ready data to support better decision‑making.
Your new role
As part of the AUSPAC Data & AI Governance team, this role combines technical data expertise with stakeholder engagement to uplift how data is structured, managed, and used across the business. You will play a key advisory role, helping embed best practices and enabling teams to take ownership of high‑quality data, while supporting QBE’s broader AI ambitions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, metadata management, and data governance practices across the organisation
- Define and implement data quality rules, standards, and frameworks to support AI and analytics outcomes
- Develop and enhance semantic models, ontologies, and metadata structures to enable AI readiness
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to solve data challenges and embed best practices
- Improve adoption and usability of data governance tools through scalable, self‑service approaches
- Support integration and optimisation of platforms such as Ataccama, Collibra, and Databricks

Key requirements:
- Strong experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management
- Familiarity with data modelling, warehousing, reporting and master data management
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Collibra, Ataccama, or similar platforms
- Understanding of modern data environments (e.g. Databricks) and data architecture concepts
- Ability to work across business and technology stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes
- Interest in AI and how data underpins advanced analytics and emerging capabilities
- 7+ years’ experience in data roles within a regulated environment (financial services preferred)
