JOB DETAILS:
Role Overview
Undertake compliance action under the NT Education Act 2015 to ensure compulsory school attendance, including issuing legal notices and coordinating prosecution briefs.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue infringement notices and summons under the Education Act.
- Analyse enrolment and attendance data for compliance.
- Monitor attendance and engagement in schooling or eligible programs.
- Collaborate across the department for service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records for evidence‑based analysis.
Selection Criteria
- Ability to interpret legislation and manage compliance cases.
- Knowledge of NT and Commonwealth legislation (Education Act, Care and Protection of Children Act, Criminal Code, Youth Justice Act).
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in strategy development and analysis.
- Willingness to travel to remote communities.
